Section 04

Accuracy of Calculations — Critical Disclaimer

Tablit uses artificial intelligence and optical character recognition (OCR) technology to read receipts and calculate individual shares. This technology is inherently imperfect. You expressly acknowledge and agree that:

  • Tablit makes no warranty, representation, or guarantee that any bill split, calculation, total, tax amount, tip computation, subtotal, or any other numerical output produced by the App is accurate or correct.
  • Receipts may be misread due to poor image quality, unusual formatting, handwriting, faded text, unusual characters, or other factors beyond our control.
  • Tax calculations are estimates only and may not reflect the correct applicable tax rate for your jurisdiction, establishment, or item type.
  • Tip calculations are estimates based on user input and are not verified against actual restaurant or venue policies.
  • Rounding of amounts may occur and Tablit is not liable for any discrepancy arising from such rounding.
  • It is your sole responsibility to verify all calculated amounts against the original physical receipt before making or requesting any payment.
  • Tablit accepts no liability whatsoever for any financial loss, overpayment, underpayment, dispute, or damage arising directly or indirectly from any incorrect calculation or misread receipt.
  • Any dispute regarding bill amounts is strictly between the users involved and/or the relevant establishment. Tablit is not a party to such disputes.
Section 05

Payments and Financial Transactions

Tablit facilitates but does not process payments directly. Payments are processed through third-party payment providers. By initiating a payment through the App you further agree that:

  • Tablit does not store your card details, banking credentials, or sensitive financial information on its own servers.
  • Payment processing is subject to the terms, conditions, and privacy policies of the relevant third-party payment provider.
  • Tablit is not responsible for failed transactions, declined payments, processing errors, or delays caused by payment providers, banks, or network issues.
  • Once a payment is initiated and confirmed, Tablit has no obligation or ability to reverse, refund, or cancel the transaction. Any refund requests must be directed to the relevant payment provider or establishment.
  • Tablit is not responsible for incorrect payment amounts that result from inaccurate bill splits that you have not verified.
  • You are solely responsible for ensuring the correct amount is paid. Tablit accepts no liability for overpayments or underpayments.

In jurisdictions where limitation of liability for certain damages is not permitted, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law. In no event shall Tablit's total liability to you exceed the amount you paid to use the App in the three months preceding the claim, or R500 (five hundred rand), whichever is less.

Section 13

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Tablit and its owners, directors, employees, agents, and affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or related to:

Tablit reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, with or without cause or prior notice. Upon termination, your right to use the App ceases immediately. Provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination — including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification — shall survive.
